Notarized translation is a translation made by a translator authorized by the Romanian Ministry of Justice and notarized by a notary public.

Notarization validates a document by verifying the authenticity of the translator's signature and the legitimacy of the signing authority. Notarization does not certify the contents of the document.

Certified translation or simple translation is a translation made by a translator authorized by the Romanian Ministry of Justice as well, but only signed and stamped by him.
